In the planning & designing of my dining room, I realized the budget was tight so when I could I reused existing furniture I did. My existing bench was so funtional for the kids & it fit my table perfectly, the only problem it was DARK brown. It needed paint, so on a whim one day I went for it and painted a french grain sack stripe. I used the DIY chalkpaint recipe for the base color(cream) and Anne Sloans French Linen Chalk Paint for the stripe.
