How to Fold a Fitted Sheet

It is difficult when trying to organize your linen closet if the sheets are a mess, especially with fitted sheets! Here are directions on how to properly fold a fitted sheet so it comes out square like a flat sheet. I also created a cheat sheet for you to keep! Very good instructions. I think I will mount them om the inside of my linen closet since it is in a large sized hallway where I can do the folding. Thank-you.

Probably a really good idea but I had rather just fold it the best I can as have to get it on the floor and making all that fuss over it.

My mother taught me how to fold my sheets this way years ago, they don,t take up much space in the linen closet and stack nicely

I wouldn't put clean sheets on the floor and I'm too old to get down there anyway - but I do basically the same steps on my guest room bed, this method really works!

Doesn't have to be folded on the floor. Use the flat surface of the bed. I've folded my fitted sheets this way for 45 years.

Yes that is the right way but to much extra work. I fold it lenghtwise 3 times then folded upward takes 3 seconds and comes out unwrinkelt. Fitted sheet gets covered up anyway.

I fold the sheets and then put the entire sheet set inside one of the matching pillow cases. Then all my sheet sets stack very nicely in the linen closet. No fuss...just grab a pillow case and you have the entire set!

Years ago when my girlfriend would go to the laundromat she taught me how to fold a fitted sheet right out of the dryer....you hang a corner on your hand and then flip the next corner on and so forth until you have all 4 corners on your hand. Then you straighten out the bottom of the sheet to make sure one fits inside the other....then you fold it in half top to bottom and then again right to left and it is all folded.

I do something similar, but not on the floor! Like my sheets folded to look like they do in the package.

I've folded my sheets together in a neat package starting with the top sheet top edge to bottom edge, then fold in half from open edge and in half again which makes a long strip. Then I fold all corners in together and fold in thirds and place on top of strip of top sheet. Then I fold the pillowcases and place at one end of the folded sheets and fold lengthwise to fit in my linen closet. This just takes 2 min. to complete if you used same method for all your sheets. They pile nicely on top ...»
of each other never having to find missing pieces. I've done this for the past 40 yrs.

Ann, thanks for the great tutorial!

It's much better than what I've been doing until now: http://thedoghousediaries.com/4491 :-)

Good Morning. I clean homes for a living, including the laundry and ironing. Most of my Bosses have me do those jobs because their sheets come out so nice and make their beds better than they do; They say.

I fold fitted sheet this way and then tri fold pillow cases and then the top sheet in half then in quarters length wise. I put the fitted sheet and pillow cases on top of flat sheet and roll all together., Then you flatten the roll with a slap of your hand. When you put away they're all together . Keeps the linen closet neat and you just stack one set on top the other.
