How can I clean raw wood cabinets?

Liliana Wells on Oct 11, 2014You may try alcohol or acetone to remove the grease. Then sand and prime before doing anything else. There are other people of HT who are more experienced at this type of thing than I am. You may get other ideasHelpful Reply

Sherry Fram on Oct 11, 2014Try TSP (the people at the store will know what you're asking for) and wipe them down then stain or paint whatever color you want.Helpful Reply

Kathy T. on Oct 11, 2014I also suggest TSP. At Home Depot it's in paint department in cleaners section. If you stain there is a pre stain product that prepares wood to help avoid dark patches. This happens on raw wood because of it's density. If you paint, I suggest a primer like Zinsser Bin. This covers stains too.Helpful Reply

Rhonda D on Aug 13, 2015I would like to suggest a non-toxic cleaner. Basic H from Shaklee products (pronounced shack-lee). Basic H is of the Healthy Home Get Clean product line and is highly concentrated. You are welcome to visit my website and look around. You do NOT have to be a "member" to order however, note that the price will be a bit higher. http://nutritionfirst.myshaklee.comHelpful Reply
