Christmas decor...Easy shabby chic fabric rose tutorial

Everyone has little tricks they use for decorating...

I have found a few over the years that I go back to time and time again.

This one for making frayed fabric roses is just so simple...

it's almost embarrassing.

They look great in a bowl, randomly grouped across a dining room table, as a topper on a gift or dotting down a garland at Christmas.

    This photo shows the same technique used with tissue paper for my Christmas garland

    rip a 2" strip of any fabric, fray it... messy is fine, don't worry about it.

    wind around fingers quite tightly.
  • Like Clip
    tuck end up through bottom.
  • Like Clip
    and that's it! if you want to use them on a gift, just put a stitch or two through the under side to secure it.

    I am going to try this with tissue paper for my garland this year, it would be so cheap to buy the tissue in a great color and it would really dress it up!
