Sherrie on Oct 16, 2014I have refinished oak. Oak we clear the room and rent a commercial sander and strip the floors. Then we use a finishing sand paper to re sand the floors, we then stain and then seal. This is not a easy process it is a three or 4 day process. There are no quick answers. Which is I think your expecting. DIY you need to go to a tool rental center and let them guide you through it. Look over the internet.'Helpful Reply

Betty Ann on Oct 16, 2014I would talk to the manager at Home Depot and continue going up the ladder until you get satisfaction. (First have someone assess the situation to assure that it's actually NOT a moisture problem)Helpful Reply

Sherrie on Oct 18, 2014If Home Depot installed it they are responsible. If the didn't it's the company that installed it who's responsible. We also laid my mothers wood floors and they were bamboo. We laid down a barrier first. But even if they were refinished you have the exact same problem. You don't have a moisture barrier and the same problem will arrive again over time. The inky thing I can see is you can refinish them and then eventually replace them. If Home Depot installed them then I would start calling the BBB. If they didn't they aren't responsible. There is Consumers Complaint board with the government, small claims court.Helpful Reply

Betty Miller on Jun 14, 2015Do any of your local TV or radio stations have a complaint line with investigative reporter? I would call them. Be ready to tell them the whole story and show proof of purchase and proof Home Depot installed. They can get things done in our area that individuals can't.Helpful Reply
