Decks & Patios Outdoor Living

Let me know what you think about this decking product.

I have a client that is considering this product on top of a membrane roof on a new house that we are building. Has anyone tried it out before? Let me know your thoughts or if you have a better product that they should consider.

I can't speak to that particular product, but I considered decking tiles when putting in a patio and found complaints about the quality/durability of most of them.

Douglas, decking tiles is what I built my first (side) deck out of, because they were so easy to work with, and I knew hubby didn't care to be involved in building a deck. That deck lasted 10 years before we had to replace it. We just went ahead and built a regular deck to replace it, because by then, hubby had enjoyed having the deck and offered to help w/the new deck.

I'd be very happy to get 10 years out of a deck in this climate.

Becky- these are decking tile squares. She is considering using them on a roof to create a star gazing balcony.

I'm considering these on top of my cool decking in my backyard for our shaded seating area. Vegas yards are tiny and almost our entire outdoor space is the cool deck. I don't have to worry about mold or rain damage, but would like to know how they hold up in extreme heat and sun. I wanted to use these to warm up the space a bit under my pergola. Would love to hear opinions!

We have not used this product yet, however Ipe holds up really well in the SE US. Much better than pressure treated which warps and does not weather well and cedar which gets eaten up by carpenter bees.
