What do you do when you don't have enough trim to make two pillows? You DIY some tassels instead! I created these easy Envelope Style Pillows with DIY Jute Tassels. Get the full tutorial at the blog...http://www.houseontheway.com/diy-jute-tassel-pillows-giveaway/
My DIY Envelope Style Throw Pillows with Jute Tassels are quick and easy to create.
Supplies for two pillows include 16 x 16 pillow forms, 1 yard of fabric and jute trim.
Cut a 2-3 inch section of jute trim and sew a 3-4 inch piece of jute twine to the middle of the section. Then add hot glue to the end of the jute section and roll it to make the tassel.
The twine string is secured by the stitches as well as the hot glue. Create 4 tassels per pillow.
Lay the front and backs of the pillow together, "right sides together", and add the tassels at the corners. The tassels will be inside the pillow as you sew, but once the pillow cover is turned inside out, the tassels will be on the outside.
Pin the layers together and sew all four sides. The pillow is envelope style, so the opening will be in the back for the pillow to be inserted.
The pillows are easy to make and look fabulous!
