Old Photo Room Divider Gets a New Life

I curbed an old photo room divider (tri-fold) and the hinges were all messed up. The inserts were missing. I took it apart, painted it with DIY chalk paint, added some chalk board inserts I made out of thin plywood, voila! great chalkboard displays.
You can see they make great chalkboards.
This is what I started with. I removed all the hinges.
I mixed up my own DIY chalk paint with Plaster of Paris and water, then stirred that into some latex paint. It stuck really well to the screen without any sanding. After the paint dried I put a light coat of wax on them. I used ASCP.
Even though I waxed with ASCP, you can use household wax on top of DIY chalk paint. I added the 8 x 10 inserts that were painted with regular chalk board paint (not chalk paint).

Wow and I thought I did good getting two sets for just ten dollars. Very cute idea to use chalk board paint Gail. I always love your ideas.
