Dried out windowsills and doors in old house 1959
-
Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Oct 18, 2014If your speaking about the inside area between the storm window and the inside sash, I use auto body fiberglass putty. I dig out the rotted wood, and fill in with the putty. You need to work quickly and with some care as once it hardens it can be difficult to sand and shape. But it will last longer then the wood, assuming its painted. If its the sill on the outside that protrudes out past the storm window, You can cut it flush to remove the decay and cut and shape a 2x 4 then screw and glue a new section to fit.Helpful Reply
