Remove blood stains, old and new from sheets?
-
Shari on Oct 18, 2014Straight hydrogen peroxide works very well on light or white colored items, especially if the blood is fairly fresh. (Do a small test spot on darker clothes or sheets.) I also have had great success with a product I read about here on HomeTalk called Zout. I've been amazed at how many stains, even old ones, I have been able to remove with it. My laundry room will never be without a bottle of this magic stuff! It comes in a red spray bottle and I found it in the laundry aisle at WalMart.Helpful Reply

Judy Warner on Oct 18, 2014Will look for it. I haven't had good luck with peroxide--don't know why. Hospitals seem to have beautifully white sheets--Helpful Reply

Blythe Brownlow on Oct 19, 2014Might try scub-a-dub--it's a stick that you use on hospital scrubs that gets out just about anything! You can get it at a scrub store--good luck :)Helpful Reply

Judy Trimble on Oct 19, 2014Ammonia usually takes it out for me. Pour on blood stain and then throw it in the washing machine.Helpful Reply

Adventures In Junking on Oct 19, 2014If your sheets are polyester you can use the same kind of enzymes used to remove pet urine from carpeting and fabric furniture. But the enzymes digest organic matter (think Pac-Man), so don't use on good cotton sheets.Helpful Reply
