DIY Rust - Vintage Bread Drawer Turned Bathroom Cabinet

If you've ever wanted to rust something quickly (in one afternoon) - you have to try this. I found a vintage bread drawer at GoodWill for $5. It sat on a shelf holding my paint supplies for a while before I found a better use for it as a bathroom cabinet. I wanted to give it a stencil treatment with rust rather than paint. A quick internet search gave me the recipe I was looking for. So cool - you can actually watch the rust forming.

Hi HoopHasIt? There's a couple steps involved. You have to first degrease, then spray spray the surface with white vinegar. When it's dry, spray with a mixture of 16 oz Hydrogen Peroxide, 2 oz white vinegar, and 1/2 T salt.

The link above will give you more detailed instructions, if you're interested.

    Good luck!

Thanks Brenda! I just asked the people at the box store if they had anything and nothing, and I have all those ingredients! I'll give it a shot!
