Refinishing washed oak with stripping

Adrianne C on Oct 19, 2014If you want to paint the set, clean thoroughly and lightly sand before painting. If you want to stain it, all of the existing finish needs to be removed. I use a heat gun to remove the existing finish, then the residue needs to be removed. There are several good products available. I haven't heard negative comments about any of them.Helpful Reply

Hope Williams on Oct 19, 2014It truly depends what your final product is going to be. Citristrip is the best stripper on the market. It does not smell bad and it won't burn your eyes or throat.Helpful Reply
