Renovation floorboards

I wonder if someone has ideas on what to do with my bedroom floor. I was thinking of chalk paint, but then again I would like to varnish or wax. I don't know where to start. Can I just sand them and apply wax, or would I have to varnish?

You would probably have to seal them first before waxing. There are several "green" floor coatings you can get that you just apply to raw wood, let it soak in, then wipe up the excess and let dry. It's sort of like tung oil, has a matte finish.
