Faux Inlaid Wood Technique on Drafting Table

We found this child's drafting table in a house we bought to flip. It was sturdy and in good shape. It just needed to be used. I love these kind of folding tables because they fold up in about 5 inches of space but can be set up in 5 minutes for extra serving space or as an extra dining table etc.
The way to get a faux inlaid look is to tape off your lines and seal the edge very, very well using a credit card edge. When you think it has been sealed well, go over the edge again.
Then gently score along the tape line using an X-Acto knife and fresh blade. This keeps the stain from bleeding into the wood. It will bleed into the small crevice instead and is unnoticeable. You get a very clean edge this way
I like the wood/metal industrial look that drafting tables have
Serve you favorite things!
