removing linoleum at entry way and replacing with mosaic tile
*Options I considered for this project:
was not really sure what i would do at that point. I did know that i wanted to colors that were neutral.
*Questions and unexpected events that arose during the project:
How would this tile adhere? how long will it take to settle. when will i be able to walk on it?
* Cost Comments:
My brother in law is a contractor so it only cost me for material as long as i was willing too get m
*My motivation to do this project:
The condo had not ever been upgrades was built in 1985.
*Project Steps:
removed meatl boarder that framed the carpet, clean the area that was to be tiled. take measurements for placement of backer board. place backer board and secure with carpentry nails. mix fast drying cement. apply cement and then tile. after drying and tile became settled. we made a boarder from wood strips found at the hardware store. final step was to stain the border with an ebony stain.
Advice:
when doing tile work use 1part white vinegar and 3 parts water to remove the haze that is left by grout. lay out your pattern of tile and the way it will be place before applying dry fast cement.
Materials:
mosaic tile, backer board, fast drying cement,grout, strips of wood for the boarder - $0.00
applying backer board
completion boarder has been added

    It wasn't a question in my mind about who would do this work when i purchased this Condo. I am picky and can be bossy and will not except excuses when it comes to something as serious as my home. i knew he would be efficient and get the job done so i would be inconvenienced over a long period of time. although i only had to pay for materials if i wasn't sure of him i would have hired someone else.
