Decorating my sons bathroom.
*Options I considered for this project:
Accessories and decorations that can be easily replaced as my son's passions change. Bathmats, shower curtains, towel hooks and other bath room accessories.
*Questions and unexpected events that arose during the project:
Family bonding moments that where PRICELESS. My son and I really had fun together cleaning and decorating his bathroom.
*My motivation to do this project:
I wanted to inspire him to keep it clean by promoting his own interest and favorite colors.
*Project Steps:
First Step is to decide on a theme. Find out what your child enjoys the most and theme the bathroom to match. It could be anything type of theme- nature/ animal, space or rocket ships or geometric shapes with different colors. If you still cannot select a theme try looking online for cartoon characters or video games that may interest your child.
Step 2: Select the colors to go with your theme. This will be important when shopping for toiletry and wall accessories.
Step 3: Check the color of the existing tile, built-in cabinets and flooring decided if you want replace or repaint any existing items. You may want to repaint and replace everything or to select a few items to replace at a time.
Step 4: Shop for bathroom accessories that match your theme and colors. These accessories include soap dishes or dispensers, tooth brush holder, toliet seat cover, bath mat, shower curtain/ hooks and towels. Depending on the size of the restroom look for posters or art work that can also be placed on the wall. Fun artisy mirrors and towel hooks are always great options to add creativity to the space.
Advice:
Avoid a themed bathroom that seems too busy. Make sure you purchase bathroom accessories to fit your childs age range.

Teen age boy. I don't think they care. Check with them about what they would like and I won't go over the top. I helped my neighbor do a blue sponch paint job and she added photos from the summer pool parties and a few shells. Their favorite sports teams are good for colors.
