New Chairs

My son and I put together chairs I recently purchased for our new island
*Options I considered for this project:
I was really hard to find 24" counter stools that were sturdy and fashionable. I considered getting bar stools that were 26 or even 30 but I feared they would be too high. We also considered not having chairs at the island only using a breakfast set for the space. I ended up finding really nice counter stool chairs in Big Lots.
*Questions and unexpected events that arose during the project:
According to the instructions on the box we only needed a Phillips head screwdriver. We ended up using a power drill because the chairs are real hardwood with a thick painted finish.
* Cost Comments:
The chairs were on clearance for 2 for $90.00. I purchased four chairs and the cost reflects tax.
*My motivation to do this project:
We purchased chairs as a seating option in our new kitchen
*Project Steps:
My son and I pulled all the pieces out in an assembly line to make sure they were all there. We then then review the instruction manual together and looked at the diagrams. After that, we took each step and pulled all the necessary pieces together for that step.We were surprised that the chairs came with tools and hardware.
Advice:
When shopping for kitchen chairs take your time a look in unexpected places. If you have to put the chairs together yourself it may save you a few bucks. But you gain good family moments.
Materials:
chairs - $0.00
power drill - $0.00

    *actually, I meant depth in terms of the walls and height (roominess) in terms of the cabinets.

    It's going to be so pretty when it's completed! Can you post more pics when it's done, i'd love to see it all finished. I can picture it all finished with the sun coming in, and sitting there with a nice cup of coffee...
