remove old wallpaper and replace with Paint - Faux design
*Options I considered for this project:
finding just the right earth tone paint color. I also wanted a design on the wall rather than plain flat boring paint
*Questions and unexpected events that arose during the project:
the walls were badly damaged underneath the wallpaper and was difficult to prep for paint
* Cost Comments:
living room size 12 x 10
*My motivation to do this project:
the old wallpaper was pealing in places, faded and old floral design. I redecorated the dining room to match the living room earth tone colors
*Project Steps:
1.Firstly, paint the walls with a solid color that will form the background color. Allow it to dry overnight so that the wall is ready next day for faux finish
4.If you want to go for a "colorwash" texture for your wall then apply a tinted glaze to the painted wall in a circular motion, you can use a sponge or crumpled rag for this purpose
Advice:
you should mix the Glaze with the 2nd paint for better results
make sure your wall surface is smooth and free from debris
Don't by cheap paint, it's not worth it
