Removing Wallpaper/ Repainting various rooms

Removing wallpaper from various rooms in our house and repainting the walls and ceiling- some lighting fixture updates as well.
*My motivation to do this project:
When we bought the house the wallpaper and wall finishing in general was horribly done and in much need of a fresh coat of paint.
*Project Steps:
Bought supplies, removed and trashed the old wallpaper, smoothed walls with putty, selected cohesive colors, and repainted. Selected fixtures to update some of the rooms upstairs b/c of the poor quality of those fixtures.
Advice:
Wallpaper that is applied directly onto the gypsum board needs to be taken off the wall with a steamer and not with chemicals and scrappers. Using chemicals and scrappers will peel off and damage the layer of paper covering the gypsum/ drywall board and then you will have to float the walls with compound; which is expensive and must be done by a professional or someone with experience. This will also add up to 3 or more days to your project b/c of the drying time and calling a reputable drywall subcontractor.
Materials:
15-20 gallons X Paint - $500.00
Supplies - $200.00
Entire Project X Drywall Compound - $20.00
Vanity Fixture - $0.00
(1) 4 light X Vanity Fixture - $150.00
2 X Ceiling Fan and Surface Mount Light Fixtures - $150.00

Looks really nice. It's hard for me to be patient enough to steam all the wall paper off. But it does benefit the end result.
