Kitchen Floor- Ceramic Tile

Installation of ceramic floor tile within my kitchen, powder room and laundry room. A total of 277 square foot.
My son even got into the project by helping.
The bathroom where the toilet sits
Me helping out by mixing the grout. Even though I did not mix it correctly- I had fun trying.
The process
First part of the kitchen has the tile down, grout and sealer still needed the tile has to set for 24 hours before walking or going any further.
The hardest part I think is keeping the grout lines straight which is not so easy to do using slate tile. This is direction left to right. He used a laser level and a chalk line marked with a string to keep the lines on track
Because the slate tile is naturally uneven- its really hard to make each grout line exact...but I think its pretty close. View Up and down
He had to use a wet-saw for the cuts around the cabinets.
Spade trowel needed
Wide tooth trowel also needed to spread the paste adhesive down- I learned that its best to leave deep ridges in the motar to allow the tile to stick better.
I bought 47 boxes of slate tile plus powder motar which the installer suggested I take back and he went and bought the pre-mixed motar...Saves lots of time.
Grout Color
Project Notes- Additional questions can be answered please send message.
Step Down Area where the carpet will remain and new ceramic tile.
The existing Linoleum flooring that has to be removed and hauled away.
Appliances must be relocated during the installation.
I can remove the base boards and lite demolition to help save time and cost.

Just loaded more photos from this past weekend. New issue is the cleaning the tile of grout and "hazey" film before sealing the tile. I want the tile to have a natural luster but it seems very dull at the time before the sealer. I am not sure if the sealer will make a difference or not. I talked with a friend who suggested buying a haze cleaning agent from Lowes. Then seal. Other than that the floor is looking good just worried about the luster factor. No Thanksgiving at my house :( Too much work and not enough time and I can't be at two places at once...I NEED a Clone!

Very Nice ! I really like the color choice. My tile is too light, and I would like to replace it with a floor like yours.
