Wood Flooring or Carpet

We are building a new home and we trying to decided between wood floors or carpet. With keeping in mind we have two large dogs. If we go with wood flooring what wood flooring what do you recommend and if we go with carpet what do you recommend.

Thanks LeeAnn - was homeless within 24 hours but I had so much love and support and friends that offered me their homes to stay and a rescue group took care of my two labs until I could locate an apt to stay until the house was rebuilt. Even though it was a horrible tragedy for everyone that got hit by the floods, much love, goodness and blessings did come out for all of us. You just have to stay positive, have faith, believe in people and step back and watch the miracles unfold. I was truly blessed and thank God for each blessing every day. Thanks again for your kind response.
