These are the bottles that I finally completed on my bottle tree. Unfortunately, the lights in the bottle didn't work very well So we placed a solar powered LED lights in the middle to illuminate it at night. I have had people stop on the side of the road to ask about it.
I used bath & shower caulk to apply all the little glass marbles, beads, and anything else I placed on my bottle. So they wouldn't come off the bottle when it rains.
I used old beaded garland from Christmas past, flat glass marbles, rocks and anything I could find around the house.
The solar panel is on the top right side. It is used to power my LED lights that has programs to change the patterns.
I used sequins, lace, tissue paper and sand.
After each bottle was completed, I sprayed each one with high gloss acrylic paint. This helped keep all items on the bottles and keeps it shining even in the Georgia heat .
I have lost 1 bottle since building it. My cousin hit it with a football by mistake.
I wasn't going to put any painted ones on but decided it needed more color. So a few of them have painted bottles on it.
It was so much fun to build the bottles.
The tree was purchased online. It is steel rebar. Make sure to put your bottles on so that the opening is lower than the bottom. This keeps the water out and won't breed mosquitos.

There's a very nice restaraunt in Marshall Michigan, Winn-Shulers. At holiday time the have a huge Christmas tree in their lobby, using all their empty wine bottles and light. It's so gorgeous, no I could make one for my home ..!
