Mercury Glass Pumpkin Votives

Easy
Playing around with some of Krylon's Looking Glass Paint this week yielded a great pile of fun mercury glass pumpkin votives for our up-coming party. It's so easy...you have to try it...
A few fun glass pieces from the thrift store are quickly transformed with some paint.
Gather your supplies: paint, painter's tape, glasses, scissors, spray bottle that mists and paper towels. I always paint on a tray because it is portable.
Use scissors to cut your pumpkin features. I put mine on the inside of the glass.
Mist inside of the glass.
Lightly spray the paint. Allow to dry for 5-10 minutes. Then blot with a paper towel. Allow time to dry and then repeat process. Continue to mist, spray and blot until you like the results.
If there are runs you don't like, just remove them by rubbing with the paper towel.
Add a battery operated candle and you have a fun, safe, inexpensive mercury glass votive.
I glued one to a glass candlestick that I used the paint on as well. I love the height it adds to my fall porch vignette.
Enjoyed the project?
