Paper Fun- Wreath and Garland

I am loving all the paper crafts so I decided to give it a shot. Here's what I came up with. My favorite part is that they last all holiday season. They'll be up through the new year with only minimal changes (and time needed)-can't beat that!
I started with simple metal frames from Michaels and some old books that I didn't care about (cutting up books is difficult for me... I love them. I chose to use my grandmother's old Condensed Reader's Digest Books, can't hardly give those away). I just cut free form "leaves" and used hot glue to adhere them to the frame.
Here's with a layer of larger "leaves."
Added a layer of smaller "leaves" and a grouping of "flowers" in one corner.
Still not happy with it. I think because I like the square shape and I lost it so I turned it over and folded the "leaves" in on themselves. Now I like it. It's amazing how sometimes a simple fix such as that changes everything for ya.
Still needs a little something but I have the perfect idea to make it last all holiday season by making simple changes.
I made two and they are hanging from sconces in the living room across from the mantle. I added a little "Boo!" sign in the center that I can simply take off and change out for the rest of the Holiday Season.
Next I moved on to the garland. I used some metal flower arranging twine to help keep shape and covered it in wrapping paper. (I unrolled and measured an approximate amount I would need for my mantle before cutting it).
Here the twine is covered with wrapping paper and I'm ready to start applying my "leaves." I bought a cheap glue gun. If you're in the market spend the extra money and get a decent one...I'm thinking you won't regret it!
Here it is. I decided it needed a little more umph! I also have to do something with my mantle. It's still not completely done but I added some beaded, pumpkin garland for a little pop of color- love it!
