I think the problem with dying a stained carpet is that the stains will still be there, and they will probably still look darker than the rest of the carpet. Have you tried, in an inconspicuous spot on the carpet, scrubbing in some hydrogen peroxide mixed with just a drop of two of Dawn dish liquid? My cat has IBS, and she sometimes does not make it to her littler box, and I have a very light colored carpet, but using peroxide with just a drop of Dawn in it really removes the stains for me.
