Mason Jar Tealights

Simple project with mason jars and spray on glass frosting. I use them out in the patio all the time.

I went to your blog and found the post about the jars. Did you spray the glass frosting on the inside or outside of the jar? Also, when you removed the cut out paper shape, did the glue still show on the jar? I really like this idea and think they look very pretty. I would like to try it myself.

Hi Donna.. the spray is on the outside of the jars. I only used a few small dots of the glue stick and it didn't show when I took it off. Please be aware that spray frosting is not waterproof so you can't use the jars for anything with water.

How did you get those little votive candles in the taller jars and then how did you light them without getting black soot all over the inside of the jars? You might be able to figure out that I'm not very crafty but this looks pretty easy!

Hi Carol. Lol. Good question! I simply wait until any was has hardened and tip the jar over! If you get any soot just spray a little glass cleaner on a paper towel and wipe the inside. (Use a wooden spoon with the paper towel if you can't get your hand in there)

the tea lights that are not candles they are the little battery operated ones would work really well with this also. Specially if you use a short mason jar
