Epoxy glue removal

I'm looking for a product that will remove epoxy glue. I have a large glass bowl that has a cylinder glass candle holder glued in. I broke the cylinder and want to try to use something to remove it. I'm thinking its an epoxy glue, not sure what glues glass to glass. I just can't see parting with this candle holder when I know that if I can remove the cylinder, I can just replace it wit another one! Help, does anyone know if their is something I can soak it in to remove it safely? Thank you so much!

Instructions1 Apply a liberal amount of acetone to the epoxy. Make sure the acetone covers all of the epoxy or you will have difficulty removing it.2 Let the acetone sit on the epoxy for several minutes to soften the glue. If you try to remove the epoxy too soon you risk damaging the surface the epoxy is on. Be gentle with the knife and start from the edge, as you don't want to damage the object the epoxy is on.4 Repeat steps 1 through 3 if any epoxy remains on the surface of the object.Read more : http://www.ehow.com/how_5548294_remove-epoxy-glue.html?ref=Track2&utm_source=ask

I had success with nail polish remover. I soaked the glue with it and let it sit for 20 minutes or so then took a razor blade and began cutting the glue away. It took awhile cycling through this process- soak and cut. I do agree with @Chris aka monkey, go easy so you don't damage the surface you're removing from.
