One Color of Paint, Two Totally Different Looks on Furniture

I mixed CeCe Caldwell's new color Newport Navy with a touch of Emerald Isle. I lightened the color with their Dover White wash, which has no pigment. I love this option because you can take an existing color and lighten it to any shade you like. Amazing one paint color can look SO DIFFERENT on two pieces of furniture!
The table had a dark base and the tray had a light base. The paint is the same color, but I ended up with two totally different looks. There are 36 colors in the CeCe Caldwell's pallet, but you can easily come up with 3,600!
Here is my table. A garage sale find. I initially painted it one of my favorites, Vermont Slate. The color was too dark for this little table and it needed lightening up.
Here is my table after. One coat of my custom color and slightly distressed. The color fits the lines of the table perfectly now.
This was a thrift store tray. It had a cheap dark veneer on it. To block the color from coming through, I used Zinnser Spray Primer.
Here is my tray after! I added the corner stencils to glam it up. I used Martha Stewart Gold craft paint. I sealed both pieces with CeCe Caldwell's Endurance. Now both pieces are gorgeous and durable!
