Hall Tree Made Out of an Old Door

I've been wanting to make one of these for a long time. I have a few doors that I've been saving but there comes a time when you just have to start letting go, or a vision never becomes reality. There are many ways this could have been done.

I chose to make a small seat with arms, and storage under the bench.

I added a shelf with some cute filigree supports. Originally I was going to replace the window with mirrors, but they were in good shape, and I thought it might look a little too modern for my taste. I primed the whole thing with Zinsser 123 primer.

I then painted the whole thing gray, and then stained it with ebony stain.

I added the old hinges, door knob, and insulators from the knob and tube wiring we were pulling out of the house we are renovating. I also added a nice cushion and it's done.
