Barbara Sweeney on Nov 03, 2014I didn't see that article but I used a product called Giani Granite on both my formica and butcher block counters and was completely satisfied with the results. Check them out: at gianigranite.com They have videos showing the process.Helpful Reply

Miriam Illions on Nov 04, 2014Hey Judy, there are tons of ideas on Hometalk using both Giani and Rustoluem. Here's a link to browse: http://www.hometalk.com/search/posts?filter=paint+kitchen+countertop - do you recall any additional specifics about the particular post you're looking for? I might be able to find it for you.Helpful Reply

Your Organized Friend on Nov 18, 2014A few years ago I used the Giani Granite to do my old kitchen countertops, they already had a red paint on them when I started. The results were awesome and it held up really well.Helpful Reply

Caroline on Nov 24, 2015To create a marbled paint finish, pick three tones of one colour eg, white, pale grey and charcoal. Do the base coat in the light colour and let dry. Overcoat in the same colour and while still wet roll an old piece of towel (cloth diapers work well for this) alternately in the deeper colours of the other two paints and proceed to scrunch/roll them over the surface thus creating a lovely marbled effect. When completely dry, give several good coats of a polyurethene varnish, especially if it is going to be used as a work top. I have used this effect on both wood and concrete floors with great results.Helpful Reply
