Ammo Box Table

When I found this great ammo box at a garage sale this summer, I knew I wanted to try making it into a table. With a bottom shelf and all of it's original hardware, it's perfect for any rustic or industrial decor!
The box was in great condition when I found it. I cleaned it up and added 4 coats of poly to it. Then I added legs, painted in Beckley Coal chalk paint, and a bottom shelf to sturdy it up.
The stamped lettering on the outside is so cool and gives this piece a lot of character!
The inside of the box gives this little side table a great storage element!
The box had some quirky blue patches painted on it. Just another great detail!
Along with the original hinges and screws, the latch is an original piece, too!
The bottom shelf, made from pallet wood, helps to sturdy up the table legs looks great, too!

Hi! I am attempting an Ammo Box coffee table and want to keep it original as you did. Did you do anything to the inside? Did you clean up the hardware and if so, what did you use? Thank you!
