Builders-grade bathroom vanity

My kids' bathroom still has the particle board vanity and builders mirror. I 'framed' the mirror with white molding/baseboard and added new knobs. I also made some wall art that I saw on this site, but still don't like it. Can this vanity be painted, or would decals/contact paper stick? Help!?

I like the idea of painting the vanity in your child's favorite color. That would make it really personal. I also would suggest you check out some of these great bathroom designs: http://www.hometalk.com/search/posts?filter=boys+bathroom+design+

Yes, you can paint it as Jill said. If it is laminate, as I suppose it is, you can do it! I painted my kitchen cabinets because they were this awful white laminate which with time became like "ivory" and I simply hated them. I did not have the budget at that time to buy new ones, so I decided to paint them. They came out great, and the paint never ever peeled nor chipped. This is what I did: I sanded them lightly, cleaned them with thinner to take out any dirt or any shine that it would have then painted them with Behr primer/paint. (It does not have to be Behr) Once completely dry I gave them a coat or two of Polyurethane. I even gave a "linen" texture with a wallpaper brush and they came out real nice. Believe me they looked great not tacky at all!!
