Make Rosary Beads From Rose Petals

You can turn the rose petals from your garden (or from your wedding bouquet or other memorial occasion) into beautiful beads.
My Rose Petal Rosary Beads
I chose to make mine into rosary beads, but you can make necklaces, bracelets, or any other type of jewelry with them.

Using roses from special moments in your life can make them wonderful keepsakes.

This tradition began a very long time ago. It was started by Nuns that made the first rosary beads from rose petals. Stringing the beads, and holding them as they prayed, gave them a way to keep track of the number of prayers said.
You can Use Dried Roses
I started with dried rose petals, and crushed them up as much as possible. You can use fresh petals if you want, either will work.
Cooking Petals
You have to cook them into a paste, carefully stirring them until you get the right consistency.
Drying
Drying them is the tricky part. This is the most important step to making my rose petal beads. Be sure to use the link at the bottom to see the whole process!

I painted my finished beads, then put them all together. Read the complete instructions for making your own rose beads...
