Marion Nesbitt on Nov 07, 2014I'd call a plumber. If it's running for 40 mins, his cost will be more than covered by the price of wasted water on your bill.Helpful Reply

Pete Wells on Nov 08, 2014Dirt/rust has stopped up the inlet valve controlled by the float, the replacement valve should cost less than $10 if you do it yourself, the task is simple but can make a mess, you'll need towels! Some of these valves can be disassembled and cleaned, some can not..replace it and the problem should be fixed!Helpful Reply

Jane ryan on Nov 09, 2014I had the same problem and it resolved every time if I simply turned on the bathroom sink directly after using the toilet (as in when washing hands). Good luck. If that doesn't work for you I would also call a plumber as someone else has suggested.Helpful Reply
