Restored Antique Hardware

We're attempting to wrap up a 6 month long bathroom renovation, and one of the finishing touches was this restored cast iron rimlock. It's original to our 113 year old brick farmhouse, and it's so rewarding to have a functioning piece of history being used every single day.

The rimlock catch mortised into the door casing.

White porcelain doorknobs are also original to this four-panel door.

Ashley, how COOL!!! You sure don't see those any more - do you have a skeleton key for it? Is the door knob original as well, looks like it probably is and were they porcelain back then??

We should re-use re-cycle-re-store!! Then there wouldn't be so much in the land-fills... They use to "Fix" things, not just toss them out!? ☻

unfortunately we don't have the original key for it. I keep meanin to take the lock down to the local antique store where they have a huge jar of keys to see if any of them will work! te knobs are original too :)

Ashley, my house has a few of those locks as well. Like you, no keys. There's also a nifty little lever on the top that locks it. Visiting your blog to see more.
