  • Marble is a soft and porous material. Its not uncommon for stains to occur on tops made of this product. When your using it in a bath, it can be even harder to keep up with makeup powders and all the spills that occur, its no wonder your having issues. Depending upon how deep the stain goes, you may be able to have a stone polisher come in and refinish them. Or you can try to do this yourself. Using a buffing machine that you would use on a car, you would take orange rubbing compound mixed with some water to thin it out, simply polish the surface to see if you can remove the stain. The worse thing that can happen is the top will become much more polished. But you just might get lucky if the stain is real close to the surface. BUT before you try anything. Check out this web site and perhaps try some of the ideas on stain removal. You might get lucky. http://tipnut.com/marble-granite-stains/

Great advice, @Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com. What do you think of this tip from @Joan @ Nicer Than New of removing marble stains by making "mustard plaster." http://www.hometalk.com/diy/removing-stain-from-marble-3255525
