Industrial Dining Room Shelf

I wish my dining room had a ton of built in storage but that's just not the case. So, with my budget in mind I shopped the house to see what I could find. My son used to use this shelf in his bedroom but no longer needed it for storage. This is how it started: Galvanized utility shelf.
These are about $15 at Walmart. So, really cheap but they can hold a good amount of weight!
I cleaned it off, hit it with a few light coats of white spray paint then added gold leaf to the visible screws. So easy but a wonderful update!
I added things from around my house to make it pretty and added some things I needed storage for like plates, bar essentials, a pig cutting board and a serving platter.
I love how it's industrial but now pretty enough to be used in our dining room!

Leigh Anne @ Houseologie on Nov 11, 2014@Miriam I I bought ours about 4 years ago so I just checked the Walmart website and they are $20 now, but still a great looking shelf for $20 after a little spray paint :-) Here's the link: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Space-Solutions-Galvanized-Steel-5-Shelf-Unit/8251823
