Carpet Stain

Our cat vomited on our beige carpet. I've tried tide stain remover, carpet stain remover and what usually works (shaving cream) but nothing has touched it. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I used peroxide, baking soda, and water.

Oh geez, I'm a "pro" at this. Our cat yaks on my white carpet in the formal living and dining rooms at least once a week. (She rarely manages to use the gray carpet in the other parts of the house, or the hard floor surfaces that are easier to clean! She seems to go out of her way to use the white carpet.) My favorite stain remover product for this is Woolite Advanced Pet Oxy Stain & Odor Remover. I've also had success getting doggy diarrhea and blood out of the same aforementioned white carpet with it. I like it because it not only works really well but it's not excessively soapy like a lot of commercial stain removers. I buy it at Walmart. I also bought a little spot carpet cleaner by Bissell (Spot Clean Pet) because I got tired of dragging out my big steam carpet cleaner every time I had a cat mess to clean up. It has one particular tool on it (the Deep Reach tool) that I really like for getting down into the carpet fibers.

Plain peroxide works all the time on my light colored carpets. My can has IBS and sometimes vomits or has diarrhea on my carpet when she can't make it to the litter box. Peroxide is awesome at removing the stains after you use a regular cleaner,

Thanks for the answers, but I'm still hoping for more ideas. I've tried all of the suggestions, however, the carpet still has a stain

Gosh, I'm surprised the Woolite product I mentioned didn't work. Here's a pictorial testimonial of how well it works for me. This is just one of the MANY stories I could tell. Picture #1. Cute dog/mischievous dog Picture #2. 7 large cans of cat food the cute dog/mischievous/BAD dog pulled off the kitchen counter, chewed open and ate in our absence. Picture #3. Carpet (in former home) covered in blood and greasy cat food after cute dog/mischievous/BAD dog chewed open and ate 7 large cans of cat food. Picture #4 Clean carpet after cleaning with Woolite Oxy stain remover product. Picture #6. Relieved cute dog/mischievous dog. (RIP Bo. We miss your mischievous shenanigans, buddy.)

Okay, the cat left me another "present" (bless her little heart) so I can show you one more example of the Woolite product in action. (I don't work for the company--HONEST!) lol. Picture #1. Cat yak (vomit) on white carpet. (I put painter's tape around it to mark off the spot, less you think I just photographed a clean spot on the carpet for photo #2.) ;) Picture #2. Brown cat yak spot completely GONE after spot treating with Woolite Advanced Pet Oxy Stain & Odor Remover and then cleaning with the Bissell spot cleaning machine! (Painter's tape and carpet still wet.) Picture #3. If anyone wants to buy this AWESOME product, this is what the current packaging looks like. (The bottle's color and label has changed multiple times in the past 6-8 years.)

Oxyclean. Mix with water. Scrub and let set for 20 min. Stain should be gone.

Get the enzyme cleaner for removing pet urine. You can find it at the pet supply store or sometimes in a grocery store.

Use 1/4 cup of white vinegar, 1 tbsp. of Dawn dish soap, and fill with water. Spray area liberally and let soak for 5-10 minutes and then proceed with blotting with a clean, dry towel until stain is removed. Some carpet stain removal products can be of great benefit for combating many types of carpet stains.
