I have a black stove. How can I clean the cooked on gunk

I have tried a lot of different things and it gets mostly clean, but still has some that will not budge.

There are several wood stove cleaning products, I've used Rutland before.

Thank you for the suggestions but this doesn't answer my question because, its a gas stove. and it is black.

  @Juana Martinez Awesome grease cleaner, Greased Lightning, or similar product. I usually end up with a 5 in one tool, or some kind of scraper. Have to be careful not to scratch it though.

I don't know if this would help (don't know what kind of gunk you are trying to get off) but this question was about cleaning grease off of a gas stove. I use either ammonia or vinegar to remove grease and cooked on food, and yes, it may leave a film so once dry, I use a clean dry microfibre cloth and buff it. This works to remove film and smudges all the time.
