Duv310660 on Nov 13, 2014When was it put in? If it was around the 60's, it's possible it is relatively soluble. Google "how do I remove this terrible adhesive off my stairs" and try some of the non-toxic ideas, (not dry cleaners solvent IMHO). I had a list of 10 possibilities, and hit paydirt with #10: cover with damp towels and then with plastic to keep damp overnight. No way, I thought, but easy enough. Worked like magic, and I got to put away the pick axe!Helpful Reply
