I was feeling festive today so I thought Id use what I had on hand to make some Vintage Mercury Glass ornaments for my tree, using just craft store glass ornaments, krylon Looking Glass spray paint, silver and black craft paint and a blow dryer.
Starting with clear glass ornaments you can get at the craft store that look like this before you get started. In just a matter of minutes by spraying the inside with 3 blasts of spray paint....

you can achieve this vintage Mercury Glass ornament. You just spray and swirl and hit it with the blow dryer as you swirl away. You can spray as many times as you like to get the desired effect.
To give the ugly gold caps a matching vintage patina I just dabbed on some craft paint mixing silver with a touch of black.

Charlie Malone on Nov 24, 2014@Deidre G Did you spray the outside of these or the inside hon??? I make my own with the plastic ones and used Metallic Blue Paint and they turned out beautiful. I do like these a lot. :) Thank you for sharing. :)
