When we changed the layout of our kitchen, without changing the actual cabinets, we were left with an awkward space about 10 inches wide between our new dishwasher and the wall.
We didn't want to let the space go to waste in our small kitchen. Plus, it looked weird just being a big hole.
So, using some cull wood and dowels, we built a custom shelf to fit the space that will easily slide in and out for ease of cleaning and access!
Painted it the same colour as the cabinets.
And found some baskets that slide in perfectly!
Now we use it to hold our every day bread, tea towels and root vegetables. For more on how we've customized our small kitchen please visit our blog at www.diypassion.com

Stp1309848 on Oct 05, 2015love the idea - - what about putting it on castors ? 2" ? 4" ? then the legs would be raised up to be even with the dishwasher beside it, and the gap at the top wouldn't be so big... AND it would be even more mobile!!!
