WHAT CAN WE DO TO CHANGE CABINETS FINISHED WITH A LIGHT STAIN TO LOOK LIKE THE DISTRESSED MEDIUM WHITE CABINETS?

Kim Sand & Sisal on Sep 18, 2012I recommend using Rust-o-leum's Cabinet Transformation kit. You can see how I transformed my cabinets with it. I used their dark kit, but they make a light kit also which would be perfect for your situation. http://www.sandandsisal.com/2011/10/painted-cabinets.htmlHelpful Reply

Diana Deiley on Nov 21, 2015If you're painting over the original stain, you can do a light sanding, then clean the entire surface with TSP (tri sodium phosphate) & hot water prior to applying a primer then your paint. Remember, light coats, let dry, repeat. I haven't tried the product Kim suggested, but I'm sure I will sometime in the future.Helpful Reply
