Gail Salminen on Nov 19, 2014@Karlayne Dossett as mentioned above it does depend on the look you want to achieve. I have used old fence boards on several pieces of furniture and I sanded them for a smooth finish - but you loose the old look finish - then painted them. I achieved what I was going for but you need to know what you want the finish to be.Helpful Reply
