Ceiling leaks

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Nov 19, 2014call a plumber. worry about the sheetrock later. sometimes a leak can be as easy as a new wax ring on a toilet. did you check all around the pipes and toilets to check for moisture/leaks? I would not panic yet. but I would get a couple different quotes to have it repaired. home warranties also cover things like this as well. good luckHelpful Reply

Gail Salminen on Nov 19, 2014@Cynthia you don't say if the roof is above the area. You could have the roof checked out. We had a problem with leaks in the basement and believe it or not it had to do with the windows - rain would leak in and travel right down to the basement and we have a two story home. We replaced the windows and now no more problems. So there could be more than one possibility to problems.Helpful Reply

Kimberly A on Nov 20, 2014I had a bathroom leak from the second floor bathroom and I found out that my shower was leaking from the adjuster valve. I could actually see the water coming out around it when I turned the handle on and then it ran back behind there. I was able to do a quick fix with some caulk until we replaced the handle with new ones. Then just hit your ceiling stains with Kilz to block out the stains.Helpful Reply
