Helping Guests Feel Welcome in Your Home

Because we travel to visit family so often I know how it feels to be a guest in others' homes. Whether someone is coming to stay or just coming for dinner, it's a nice touch to make them feel at ease by labeling the cabinets and doors they may use.
I used removable chalkboard stickers to label our dish, glassware, and snack cabinets so that anyone in the kitchen would be able, and feel at ease, helping themselves.
I used a white chalk pen and made labels for the cabinets and coat closet door.
I filled the coat closet with hangers so that guests entering the house don't need to stand around with their coats in the arms and instead know right where to put them.
There is nothing more welcoming to me than the site of the cabinet door that says coffee on it!
Stop by to see more of our Thanksgiving house!

Kate Griffin | Eating in the Shower Blog on Nov 19, 2014Thanks @Hannah V I do the same thing. We always expect to find things near where we'd keep them in our own house but that's not always the case...
