A dresser filled with... hydrangeas?!

I was about to throw one of my dressers onto the curb, when I noted a neighbour's hydrangea bush gone crazy. She didn't want the blooms, so I changed my mind about the dresser. I needed a new place for my flower loot! :)

The blog post has the full length shot... and it's a DOOZY.

Fall hydrangeas find their way into a dresser, in a BIG way.

Hey Becky, I'm not sure, so I googled it and came up with the 'mophead' variety. They are super common in the lower mainland (BC Canada). http://www.hydrangeashydrangeas.com/mopheads...

Love it. I drool over hydrangeas anyway. And also over great photography. So right now I'm having to dry off my keyboard.

Also, Becky, I went to British Columbia years ago and when I showed my pictures to friends back home, they kept asking about my camera - I kept telling them that it had nothing to do with the camera, the flowers just really looked like that. My sister and I had never seen flowers with such intense, vibrant color - it just has to be gardening heaven. We visited Whistler and Vancouver and Victoria in September and saw the most gorgeous flowers everywhere - hanging pots, streetside gardens ...»
in the cities, not to mention Butchart Gardens. I have never seen anything so beautiful.

FunkyJunk Donna, I've been puttering around your blog this a.m. and I think I may be heading to Pulaski, TN next weekend for Bella Rustica. I'm less than 2 hours away and it sounds like fun. Maybe I'll see you there.

Thank you for the link Donna. After a good nights sleep I'm thinking better. Was going on about four hours yesterday with a small nap after dinner so it never dawned on me that it could be the soil. After reading Ellen's comments about BC I'm thinking that's true. I know Hydrangeas tend to color according to their soil so my guess is these bushes have a PH balanced soil. Or something to do with the soil. I don't know enough about that to say for sure, but I do know there color has to do with the soil. Forgot all about that last night.

Donna - let's get our dresser planters together for a playdate! My hydrangeas withered about a month ago - you're lucky to still have them blooming nicely!
