Love, love, love! I want to do something similar in my kitchen, but where I want the shelves, they won't be sandwiched between two side walls and will need to hold the weight of my dishes. I'm trying to figure out how to go about it without visible support brackets. Awesome job on yours!
Thanks Autumn! You could build the shelves the same way for your kitchen, just build the hidden inner frame a little smaller than your top and bottom pieces so you can glue side pieces that are the same height as the front pieces onto the side brackets. So basically you'd be wrapping the front piece around the sides instead of sandwiching the sides against the wall.

I'd add some additional hidden middle support pieces just to be sure that they can hold the weight of your dinnerware. Also, be sure to screw the shelves into studs (if you can) for extra stability! Good luck!

I have some shelves there now, next to an upper cabinet, I'd like to remove the cabinet and have a couple rows of chunky shelves the length of the wall.
