Spray Paint a Pillow?

Sure, why not? My front porch needed an injection of color. Stat! So I used what I had on hand - burlap from Home Depot garden dept., spray paint., and a dollar store felt leaf.

    What a cute idea~! Though burlap is itchy to my eyes and nose so I'd have to use canvas, I do think this is an awesome way to make a quick change to a plain pillow. Thanks Colleen!

    Colleen - the pillows are simply gorgeous. Look very high-end and expensive.

    I'm in the middle of painting stripes on a valance for my kitchen window I made our of burlap. I thought I was finished but when I put it up I decided I needed one more color added to the stripes (you know how that goes, right?) I taped my stripes off w/regular blue painters tape and went to town. Not one single bit of bleed-thru!! Yeah.

    They look so nice, bet your husband wondered when you had time to shop.

    @Susan-you'll be posting those, too...right?

    I just may . . . . I have a leaf place mat that I used as a template when I was painting "fall leaves" on my deck so all I need to do is get some more burlap!! Colleen was my inspiration for my burlap/leaf table runner. Hers was a mantle scarf and I was all gung-ho til I realized I don't actually have a mantle!!

    Dee - I just realized I sorta misread your post. You were asking if I was going to post pics of the valance when I get the other stripes added, right? I thought you were asking if I was going to try the leaf pillows - Duh! That's what I get for reading too fast! Yes, I'll post the valance but I'm definitely gonna try the pillows too!! ;~)

    Thank you! Most definitely this works on other fabrics besides burlap. I used a painters drop cloth for 4th of July, which was fun too. But there's something about the color and texture of burlap that makes these really fun. (btw, no one actually sits on those chairs, haha)

    @Beverly - I haven't painted sheets. Should be fine with light coats. I've spraypainted a canvas dropcloth and it was fine. I don't think the paint would wick on the sheets but maybe test on an old one first?
