Simple, Inexpensive Updates to a 50's Bathroom

The Chirping Frog
by The Chirping Frog
This bathroom is original to the house and in desperate need of some updating. The goal: spend very little money but make a huge impact. I think we accomplished that. We started with the floors, putting in Allure Vinyl Flooring throughout the house. The rest is paint and a few odds and ends to pull it all together. Here's a glimpse into the process!
I have already ripped out the nasty carpeting that was in here and this is what I found. It also got scraped up. The bathroom has the same paneling found throughout the rest of the house. Paint to the rescue. We needed to keep all fixtures and make the most impact with the least amount of money. The floor took a lot of the budget.
The hallway, a bedroom to the bottom right of the picture and this bathroom got Allure Vinyl Flooring. That alone made a huge impact!
Here's the tiny little toilet area, hope you're not claustrophobic.
I cleaned everything and put a coat of primer on to start things off.
Amazing the difference a couple coats of paint can make. Still working on the finishing touches (such as trimming out the floor).
Here's the view from the hall. Pink tub and sink, same 50's countertop as the kitchen, cleaned up nicely.
We added a wood toilet seat, just because. The toilet has been replaced over the years so it's not the original pink, it's white. I like the touch of wood.
